Age Range: Grades 1-8
Primary audience: For grandparents, siblings, and family friends of cast members
Rising Stars brings the full theatrical experience, sets, lighting, props, and costumes, to our youngest performers, in a format thoughtfully condensed to match their age and experience. This company focuses on the fundamentals of theater performance, and is a perfect way for youth actors to begin! For some families, this also offers a gentle step into the theater world, with shorter and less frequent rehearsals.
Why Attend
There’s nothing quite like watching a room full of young performers, some as young as first grade, bring a full story to life with sets, costumes, and lights! Rising Stars gives audiences a front-row seat to a milestone moment: often a child’s very first time performing in front of a crowd.
The format is condensed, but the heart is not. These productions are built with genuine care to match the age and attention span of the cast, which means the energy stays high, the pacing stays fun, and the whole show moves at a clip that keeps young audience members, and grown-up ones, equally engaged.
Rising Stars offers a joyful, low-pressure introduction to what live theater can feel like. And for the performers themselves, having a full house cheering them on is often the exact spark that ignites confidence for life!
At Stage 284 we value participation from performers of all ages and experience levels and seek to create a multigenerational experience where adults and children can learn from one another.
