Join us for our annual Harvest Dinner from the comfort of your home!
This community meal and virtual event will celebrate the winners of our Hometown Heroes Awards while raising money for vital TCH programming.
During the event, we will recognize over 600 heroes, nominated by over 100 of their fellow citizens, whose acts of bravery and quiet acts of kindness have helped sustain our community during this difficult time.
The evening, which will feature gourmet, take-home meals by Timothy S. Hopkins Catering, will also raise funds for Stage 284’s Scholarship & Equipment Fund and TCH’s COVID Safety & Wellness Fund.
Challenging times like these highlight the essential human need for connection and belonging. At The Community House, we are meeting those needs–even in the time of COVID—with online events and programs that foster meaningful connections and experiences that bring families and communities together.
Although we can’t gather in one place, we look forward to sharing this night of joy and gratitude with you.
P.S. We are proud to recognize the generous support of our Event Sponsors: Albrecht Auto Group, Clutch Towels,Cole Landscaping, Emanio Creative, Moors & Cabot, and Salem Five Charitable Foundation.
Details about connecting to the presentation will be shared prior to the event.
Be sure to watch your email and check this site as the big day approaches!
YOU Can Make a Difference Today!
Like our Hometown Heroes, TCH is making a positive difference in our community. You can make a difference too, with a gift that honors these heroes while supporting our mission. Donating is simple and takes just 4 minutes!
Funds raised through Harvest Dinner will be used to address two critical needs.
A donation to this fund will provide financial aid for a child who wishes to participate in one of our Stage 284 Mainstage or Youth Company Productions or Youth Studio enrichment workshops. Before COVID-19, 10-15% of program participants received scholarships. Now, we are seeing a significant increase in requests for scholarship assistance. This fund will also provide much-needed equipment.

Hometown Heroes Awards
The Community House has been honoring local heroes for community service since its founding 99 years ago. Most years, we honor one or two individuals for their volunteer work. The COVID-19 pandemic inspired The Community House board and staff to take a different approach.
This year we recognize over 600 Hometown Heroes, nominated by over 100 of their fellow community members, whose acts of bravery and quiet acts of kindness have helped sustain our community during this difficult time.
We know that a list like this can never be complete. So we also want to take a moment to say thank you to all the unsung heroes. Together, we can continue making a positive difference in our community.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the nominee have to reside in Hamilton or Wenham?
We will honor individuals who live in HW and are responding to COVID-19 elsewhere as well as individuals who live beyond HW and are fighting COVID-19 and its impact here.
How significant must the impact be to warrant nomination?
Impact can be big and small; every positive effort counts. Your hero may be an eight year old raising money for COVID-19 relief through a lemonade stand, a nurse at Beverly Hospital committed daily to caring for their patients, a neighbor making masks or a friend delivering meals to the elderly. Heroic acts surround us.
May I submit a nomination form for a group of people who collaborated?
Yes, group nominations are welcome.
What does the selection process entail?
Nominator fills out a simple nomination form. If the nominee fits the criteria, their names will be included in a video presentation during a virtual dinner on October 3. We will highlight specific hero profiles during the video.
Is the nominee required to attend the virtual dinner on October 3rd?
No, participation in the dinner is not required. It will be a virtual event and all nominees may choose to participate.
Who attends the virtual Harvest Dinner event?
All are welcome!
