Stage 284 is thrilled to welcome Cassie Foote to our Directing Team…here is a sneak peak at her vision:
“Not only does this production coincide with the Community House’s 100th year celebration, but it also follows a difficult few years where many were reminded of the importance of community and connection. Emily Webb asks, “Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it? every, every minute?” Following the pandemic, Thornton Wilder’s play and his protagonist’s question is one that resonated so deeply for me. I had thought that 2020 was the year I would get all the things I thought I needed to be happy. Instead, it became the year I learned to appreciate everything I had: my family and friends, and the communities I was a part of. From self-checkouts, to smart phones, ordering online, and work-from-home schedules, isolating has become all too routine. Our Town begs us to really look at one another, engage with our community, and not to miss a single minute of the life around us.”
